What We Believe

Plain old doctrine from the plain old Book.

The following summarizes the beliefs of Truth Baptist Church. Nothing fancy — just what the Bible teaches and what Baptist folks have preached for a long, long time.

  1. Article 01

    The Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the verbally inspired, preserved Word of God — our final authority for faith and practice. We stand on the King James Bible in English.

  2. Article 02

    The Triune God

We believe in one God eternally existing in three Persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in every divine perfection.

  3. Article 03

The Person and Work of Christ

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is true God and true man, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, crucified for our sins, raised bodily from the dead, and is coming again.

  4. Article 04

    Salvation by Grace Through Faith

We believe salvation is the free gift of God, received through faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ apart from any human merit or works. Every believer is eternally secure in Christ.

  5. Article 05

    The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the lost, indwells every believer at the moment of salvation, and empowers Christians to live godly lives and do the work of the ministry.

  6. Article 06

    The Local Church

We believe the local church is an assembly of baptized believers — gathered to worship, preach the Word, observe the ordinances, disciple one another, and take the Gospel to every creature.

  7. Article 07

    The Two Ordinances

We believe the Lord Jesus gave the church two ordinances — baptism by immersion as a picture of our union with Christ, and the Lord's Supper as a remembrance of His death until He comes.

  8. Article 08

    The Return of Christ

We believe in the personal, bodily, pre-millennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ to receive His Church, to judge the world, and to establish His kingdom.

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
— Psalm 119:105
